Historic landmark receives Building of the Year and People’s Choice awards

PEMBROKE, July 17, 2009 – "The Renfrew County Courthouse was presented Friday with major awards naming it the office building of the year and recognizing the landmark for its impressive architectural design.
At a ceremony inside the newly restored, renovated and expanded facility, court officers and staff watched as their workplace received two more pieces of hardware to a growing list of accolades."
On July 17th local media covered the official presentation of two prestigious awards held at the Renfrew County Courthouse. The awards presented were the 2009 "The Office Building of the Year" (TOBY) award in the Historical Category from The Building Owners & Managers Association (BOMA) of Ottawa and the 2009 People’s Choice award from the Ontario Association of Architects (OAA). NORR’s restoration, renovation and expansion of the Courthouse now holds a total of five individual awards.
The event was jointly hosted by the Ministry of the Attorney General (MAG) and Ontario Realty Corporation (ORC) who proudly recognized the government-owned Courthouse in Pembroke for its execution and multiple awards.
