The Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario (ARIDO) announced the winners of its 24th annual ARIDO Awards of Excellence, during a gala dinner at the Direct Energy Centre.
This prestigious awards program honours innovation, creativity and professional achievement in the province's interior design industry. Judges of this year's entries chose to recognize 23 designs from 11 separate categories.
Attilio Labriola was the ARIDO member on the Renfrew County Courthouse Renovation and Addition Project which received an ARIDO Interior Design Award of MERIT at the annual Gala event. The project was submitted under the "collaborative category". The other collaborating team members who were on hand to celebrate the win included, Mark Sider, Jonathan Hughes, Kristi Castilloux and David Clusiau. They were joined by Anthony Lue Tam from the Ministry of Attorney General.
The jury stated that the project was "...a deft pairing of existing heritage and new elements" The project previously won an award from the AIA Justice Committee and was the subject of a publication by the Ministry of Attorney General.
